Superior Roleplaying Rules
This server is Semi-Serious. This means that we do not enforce strict in and out of character chat, or use of /me for all actions.
That said, we do require players to follow New Life Rule, FearRP, and various other rules listed below.
In addition, we expect our players to role play their characters or jobs accurately.
Please take five minutes to review the general rules, as well as our specific class rules.
You may choose to skip over these rules, but know that we do not accept "I didn't know that was a rule", as an excuse and may be banned depending on your actions. By closing this window, you agree to follow and be held accountable for all rules herein.
General
- Do not prop spam, prop push, prop climb, or prop surf. You will be banned without warning, depending on the severity.
- When constructing a base, at no time may it restrict access of an ATM to the public, unless your group is large enough to justify the base isolating the entire district. (tunnels and bridges are generally considered a divider among districts)
- If your base restricts access to any natural resource such as Mining rock or Lumber trees, you must be willing to allow any Miners or LumberJacks to enter and exit your base to perform their job, Uninhibited, at a moments notice. (Uninhibited means that while they are inside your base, neither you nor your men may mug, abduct, or otherwise harass the workers)
- Be cautious when spawning large props.
- Fading doors cannot be against a locked door, making it impossible to crack in.
- You may have one fading door per entrance to a base. For example;
you can have a front and back fading door, but you cannot put two in a row to make it take longer for thieves to crack their way in.
- Fading doors must last at least 8 seconds, and have a keypad for the door which must be easily accessible (not obscured in anyway, or made to make only crack-able from one angle.)
- Bhopping is not allowed. Using it in RP is an advantage over other players and it makes players believe you are speed hacking, causing many issues.
- This is not a build server, try and make bases reasonable, don't take up half of the map when you only have a small group.
Big bases that take up a lot of room are usually for big groups of people (Perhaps a Rebellion)
- Do not build random contraptions. (Or try to keep it at a minimum, and do not let it interfere with Role playing.)
- The use of wire for malicious intent is forbidden, and will result in similar punishment as prop abuse. (For example, using the "User" part to steal guns out of vending machines.)
- No class has the authority to enforce a toll booth, not even the police.
- Law Enforcement and the Mayor cannot prevent players from accessing the election NPC, however they may regulate the lobby as they see fit. (Allowing only one visitor at a time, Making a prop tunnel restricting movement, forcing weapon checks.)
- Follow New Life Rule (NLR) When you die in any circumstances, (Other than RDM / Prop kill) do not return to your death location
for 3 minutes. You forget everything from your previous life.
- During raids on the Police Department, the NLR for Police Officers is 2 minutes.
- Do not Random Death Match. (RDM) Mass RDM will result in a temporary or permanent ban depending on severity.
- No PG-13+ sprays. Pornographic sprays may result in immediate permanent ban.
- Try to keep cursing at a minimum.
- No OOCing for Role Playing purposes. (Out Of Character) For example; talking about raiding a group or base, etc.
- Do not abuse a job to gain favor with other players.
- Spamming isn't tolerated. Chat spamming, OOC spamming, (Out Of Character) advert spamming, or any other type of spamming.
- You cannot build during a raid. This includes freezing your props if they become unwelded or unfrozen by the raider.
- You may raid during a base's construction, but there is no guaranty the base will be in raidable condition. This means it is not the builder's priority to no-collide or turn a prop into a fading door, just to allow for your raid because you jumped the gun. If this happens, just come back later when the builder is done.
- Don't Fail RP. If you are kidnapped by a player, do not use suicide or rejoin the server to escape. (This also goes along with FearRP)
- FearRP works on a Weapon Superiority scale as follows:
Firearm & Explosives > Melee weapon > Fists
If you are ambushed by a player with a weapon that is Superior than what you have drawn at the moment, you must consent to FearRP. Only if you have a Superior weapon available in your active scroll wheel than what the ambushing player has drawn, can you counter draw and defend against the player. For example, if you are mugged by a knife, but you have a handgun available in your scroll wheel, you may draw it and defend yourself.
(The only exception is that anyone may draw fists to defend against another's fists)
- FearRP: If someone puts a gun to your head, you must follow his or her demands assuming that they're reasonable.
If you have an equal or superior weapon out at the time, you can fight back. Otherwise you can't retaliate unless they put away the weapon or turn their back on you.
- Using FearRP, raiding classes may take a player hostage to stage off pursuers, but not for the purpose of attaining weapons or money.
- When robbing a player, the maximum the player committing the robbery can ask for is 200 dollars.
- Do not Metagame. This is when an out of character action is made by the players character, and uses the knowledge
that the character should not be aware of. (Killing a Hitman on sight when you see he has an accepted hit above his head)
- No Printer bombing or Meth bombing. (Using a printer/uncooked Meth as a weapon / explosive)
- When basing, do not use props which allow the raider to be shot at, while the owner cannot. This includes non-bullet proof props that can behave like a one-way mirror.
- Camera Spamming can get you banned if you have been warned once, and continue to do it. Some players of the community have Epilepsy and doing this can kill them, literally.
- Do not place cameras in other players bases to see inside of it unless the player gave permission to place one.
(Only if its used as an advantage, it is disallowed)
- Camera Placement: "Security Cameras" must be placed on your physical property. Such as above your entrance, (Directly above the fading door) and not across the street, or somewhere unreasonable.
- Drop abusing; do not drop a gun or equipment that a class spawns with for use on a different class. Example; dropping a gun that a police
officer spawns with for use with another class.
Raiding Classes:
- Thief / Master Thief.
- Mob Bosses.
- Gangsters. (when in a group of at least two, or with their Mobboss if consigned.)
- Mercenaries, but only with their employer.
- Medics. (They are only able to come along in a raid, only to heal. They cannot not retaliate, even in self defense but must flee.)
- Drug Baron.
Specific Job Rules & Guidelines:
- You may own a house or small building. You cannot live with any Raiding classes. You may not have any fading door entrances / obstacle for raiders to get through. You may have fading doors for storage's / containers for your printers, etc.
- Citizens cannot raid.
Abductor:
- Refer to the General area for instructions regarding FearRP.
Civil Protection / Civil Protection Chief:
- Corrupt Civil Protection is not allowed. Taking a bribe here and there is fine if valid through RP, but raiding contraband such as printers must be destroyed on site with your stun stick, for a reward. Drugs, weaponry, food, money, and crafting supplies may only be confiscated if the owner is found to have committed a crime. (such as possession of drugs or weaponry when illegal)
- You may not randomly shoot, harass, arrest or search players without a valid reason. The Mayor may legalize randomized searches if it is posted as a law. (Mass random arresting can get you banned)
- Cops and Mayors are not allowed to build bases in any form, they may only re-enforce the Police Department. Police may only build checkpoints for contraband or selective foot or vehicle traffic detour barriers with the Mayors FULL consent and order. Tollbooths are Prohibited under ALL circumstances. (Checkpoints must be manned at all times when restricting movement, foot and vehicle traffic detour barriers must be marked as commissioned by the Mayor)
SWAT: - Inherits rules from Civil Protection and CP Chief. SWAT do not have the ability to set Wanted status or request Warrants.
- Preservation of a criminals life is NOT SWAT's prerogative, as such they are not issued an arrest baton. SWAT are NOT required to call for assistance of an officer with an arrest baton to prevent or stop criminal acts.
Gun Dealer:
- Gun Dealers cannot raid or riot! Going Gun Dealer to spawn guns for yourself then immediately changing classes is Self supply and is Forbidden.
- Gun Dealers must have a public shop and sell to everyone, within role-play. This means if a player or group is repeatedly threatening, harassing, or stealing from you or your customers, you may refuse them service IF it has happened within your current life. (NLR resets your judgment)
- Gun Dealers cannot base with anyone other than Gun dealers or Black market dealers. (Other than the hire-able classes, such as Mercenary)
- You are allowed to "self-supply" a single gun for self-protection.
Deputy Mayor:
- You inherit all the restrictions of Mayor, which means no law enforcing, or attending raids.
- You have only the ability to request warrants/wants. While you may order the CP, the Mayor's orders will overrule yours. You do not have the power to enforce Checkpoints or foot & vehicle traffic detours.
- You will become the Mayor once the current one dies. Plots to assassinate or remove the current Mayor from power are forbidden.
- Use your high status to patron ceremonies, christenings, and parades, speaking in place of the Mayor. You may be asked to retrieve things for the Mayor such as food, weapons, or other valuables.
Mayor:
- You are not a murderer or a police officer, your weapon is for self protection only.
- You cannot do the police work. This means you cannot go on raids with the police, or kill someone for being wanted, except in self defense.
- You may not abuse lockdown. You must lockdown for a valid reason.
- If you are killed by a rebel, the Deputy Mayor becomes the current Mayor.
- All arrested rebels MUST be executed in jail. (Prevents server-side bug)
- Police checkpoints and detours are to be allowed ONLY by your command. Ensure all active checkpoints have at least one officer on duty.
DJ Superior:
- You cannot base with raiding classes, but you can group up with a Bartender to provide entertainment.
- You must play music, however you do that is your choice. (Singing, Piano, or High Quality Audio over the microphone.)
- You must have a Club, Bar or Booth. Somewhere, where you play your music exclusively, instead of walking in the streets blaring music.
Hobo:
- Spamming bugbait is an arrest-able offense.
- Throwing bugbait at other players will get you shot.
- Singing is legal. (Right clicking with the Bugbait equipped)
- You are not inherently forbidden from owning guns. (Laws may still restrict ownership)
- You cannot raid. You must base only with other Hobo's, work with harvesters by processing materials, or other than hire-able classes, such as Mercenary.
Mob Bosses: - You are supposed to lead a gang. If you don't, you can be demoted.
- Encourage your thugs to assist you commit illegitimate acts such as intimidation of shopkeepers for paid "Protection". This can cover robbery of Thieves to hostile actions from other classes, such as the rival gang. "Protection" is NOT basing, and you may not place your men to sit on a shop and guard it, but more of a means of protecting your "Interests". Protect a Gun Dealer from a Thieve raid and he might just "misplace" some weapons for you.
- Spread your influence over shopkeepers to promote your interests, and mark your territory with gang-signs and graffiti to warn off other hooligans. It is advised you create a sphere of influence near your base.
- Enemy Mob Bosses cannot base or work together, nor can their consigned Gangsters. You should act to subvert the rival gang's power and desecrate their territory. Mob Bosses MUST raid with their consigned gangsters, and be present and leading for acts of intimidation.
Gangsters: - You are expected to join the gang of the mob boss that you belong to, but you do not have to.
- Gangsters not consigned to their Boss cannot intimidate for money or influence of area, but they may commit muggings or raid if they are in a group of at least two Gangsters.
Hitman:
- Using this class for RDMing will result in an instant ban.
- Stalk the streets looking for those with a chip on their shoulder and a bulge in their wallet.
- Talk with customers in secret, as negotiating a hit can get you arrested, just as well as advertising hits to the public.
- Do not accept hits on the same person twice in a row, as it is considered spam. Accepting repeated hits from an individual against a group's members such as gang or the CP are acceptable, as long as you do not repeat the same target.
- You cannot base with a gang or group. You are a lone gunman, buy a discreet apartment room or a small house to hide your actions and plan your attack.
Bartender: - You must make a bar or club.
- You are able to setup your club or bar alone, or with others when appropriate. This means that you can have your club or bar and hire a DJ to provide entertainment, or have a cook sell food for your customers, or serving drinks at your local Mob's "Legitimate businessman's office."
Medic: - You are a professional of the Hippocratic Oath, prove so by healing the players of the server.
- You may travel the streets healing as you see fit, or set up a building such as a Clinic or Hospital. You cannot base with any raiding class, other than hired Mercenaries.
- You may choose to heal for free, or you may go private and heal for money. (You may only charge for health if you have an established building / Clinic / Hospital.)
- You cannot deny any person of healing, free or for money, except through valid role-play. This means if a player or group is repeatedly threatening, harassing, or stealing from you or your customers, you may refuse them service IF it has happened within your current life. (NLR resets your judgment)
Cook:
- You must make a food cart, market, or convenience store.
- Set up on your own, or group up with others when appropriate. This could mean setting up shop with a Bartender in a market, working in a soup kitchen for the homeless, or serving food at your local Mob's "Legitimate businessman's office".
Thief:
- You are a lowly Thief, and can mug players or raid shops and homes without requiring the help of others.
Drug Baron:
- Sell your product from the dark of alleyways, or open up a shop under a guise, as direct transaction of drugs can get you arrested, as well as advertising drugs to the public.
- Going Drug baron for the sole purpose of using drugs to leap over walls and raid is Self Supply and is Forbidden.
Miner / Lumberjack:
- Harvest rock / wood and sell it to the highest bidder, or use it yourself.
- Seek out for fortune on your own, or group up with other harvesters. You may not base with any raiding class, other than a hired Mercenary.
- Miners and Lumberjacks are very protective of their plots, arm yourself with a weapon, such as a shotgun, to keep away trespassers.
- You cannot make a base, but you may make a Quarry, Sawmill, Processing plant, or town around an active Plot. (Laws may restrict separate towns)

Admin Rules:
Note: If there is an Admin on Duty, there is no reason for other administrators to be involved in disputes, unless a second opinion is required.
Admin Policy:
This is not so much a list of admin rules, as it is simply a general statement of how we would like our admins and operators to handle any situations that come up. The main point of this post is to define what constitutes overbearing or overly casual admins, and try to explain the level of involvement that we think admins should have on the server. To best explain our general stance on good moderating, I’ll start by analogizing it to the two major U.S. political parties: the Democrats and the Republicans (if you don’t live in the U.S. this might not be such a good analogy, but hopefully you still understand the difference between left and right wing opinions on politics). For those who are less savvy with politics, Democrats believe in a bigger government, which is more involved in people’s lives, and helps regulate society. Republicans, on the other hand, believe that government should be as small as possible, and kept out of people’s lives. They think that the economy should be left to function on its own, and that the invisible hand of the market will lead it in the correct direction.
If you haven’t already figured out where I’m going with this, I’m comparing admins to the government, and Superior is more of a Republican server (my views on moderating have nothing to do with my actual political opinions). I don’t like nit picky admins, who obsess over every detail, interrogate people after any kill, and lay down harsh punishment for small offences. Just as Republicans don’t want government in people’s lives, I like admins to be as small a part of a player’s experience as possible, while still making sure that everyone has a good time.
Here is a hypothetical situation with two hypothetical outcomes. A gang is raiding the PD. Police arrive and a fire fight ensues. In the process, a civilian or two get caught in the crossfire (they are presumably killed by gang members) and claim RDM. You could, as admin, come no clipping down to the PD, then slay all the gang members and excoriate them for RDM, as well as threaten to ban them for a second offence, but this isn't really a good approach. Players shouldn't have to play in fear of making small mistakes like that, and in real life people get caught up in bad situations like this one all the time. The better approach is to PM the offending gang members and tell them to be more careful, and possibly compensate the civilians for any losses. This way, everyone is fairly happy, and you don’t severely damage anyone’s RP experience.
Of course, cheaters, prop pushers, spammers, DDoSers, and other players who are extremely detrimental to the server experience should still be dealt with quickly and harshly. And, it is still the duty of admins to enforce rules like NLR, and no self supplying/raiding gun dealers, etcetera.
Choices:
Offences and Appropriate punishments:
Anything that begins with "Repeated", means that the player has been warned at least two times before the specified punishment can be applied.
- You must work for someone, this means you can work for any class, from protecting a house or base or a VIP, such as the Mayor.
- Security Guards CANNOT raid, steal, or spy on behalf of their employer.
Donator / VIP Classes:
Delta Force / Delta Force Leader:
- Inherits rules from Civil Protection and CP Chief.
- Unlike SWAT, Delta Force have the ability to set Wanted status and request Warrants.
Civil Protection Sniper:
- Inherits rules from Civil Protection and CP Chief.
- Inherits "Lack of Arrest Prerogative" from SWAT, and as such is not issued an arrest baton.
Civil Protection Riot Police:
- Inherits rules from Civil Protection and CP Chief.
- Riot Police are equipped with nerve gas, and as such, must be cautious of collateral damage.
Juggernaut:
- Inherits rules from Civil Protection and CP Chief.
Hobo King:
- Inherits rules from Hobo.
Master Assassin:
- Inherits rules from Hitman.
Master Thief:
- Inherits rules from Thief.
FreeRunner:
- You cannot raid what so ever, meaning entering a base with the intention of harming others or stealing weapons, printers, money, or food.
- Don't use your speed and double jump as a advantage over other players. (Such as punching others because you can easily run away)
- Neck Snapping other players without a valid Role play reason will be considered Random Deathmatch.
- You are unable to base in all circumstances.
Black Market Dealer:
- You may set up a shop, or work privately with a group.
- You are allowed to "self-supply" a single gun for self-protection.
- Raiding is not allowed under any condition.
Rebel:
- Your job is to take out the Mayor or capture him to influence policy.
- Police can kill or arrest you on sight, except for when you spawn for the first 30 seconds. (You use this time to hide and arm yourself)
- You must not attack the police in any way untill 30 seconds after you spawn. (Wait until you're ungodded.)
- Once you kill the Mayor, he will be demoted.
- After death, you cannot become the class again for a minimum of two minutes.
- You must give a new Mayor 10 minutes before going rebel. (To create laws, etc.)
FBI:
- Corrupt FBI agents are not allowed period, they may not accept bribes, and raiding contraband such as printers must be destroyed on site with your stun stick, for a reward. Drugs, weaponry, food, money, and crafting supplies may only be confiscated if the owner is found to have committed a crime. (such as possession of drugs or weaponry when illegal)
- FBI agents investigate people. They go along with police raids and can assist in investigating the building using their lockpicks and keypad crackers.
- You can use tactics that Civil Protection cannot, like breaking into a base with a lock pick / Keypad cracker without a warrant.
- You can never shoot someone while breaking into their place unless they take out a gun first. Use clever tactics as this class,
- break into the owners home while the owner of the property is away. If they return while you are inside, you can kill them without
- them pulling out a gun.
- FBI answer directly to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, and do not fall under the orders of CP Chief or Delta Force Leader.
Mercenary:
- Inherits rules from Security guard.
- While you have the ability to raid, you are only able to raid with your employer. You cannot raid or rob players alone. You may help your employer carry stolen goods, only if at least one non-hired class in the group survives the raid.
Sewer Creature:
- You are the horror that lurks in the shadows, and no class is safe from your fury. You may attack any class that enters your territory without it being charged with Random Death Match.
- You may not use any firearms you pick up. Given the power of your melee, this shouldn't be an issue.
- You must stick to the nether areas of the map, such as the sewers and subway, or waterways such as canals, rivers, and the water of the beach.
- If you are killed, you must wait at least 30 seconds before beginning your pursuit of the same trespassers.
Admin Rules:
Note: If there is an Admin on Duty, there is no reason for other administrators to be involved in disputes, unless a second opinion is required.
- Follow Chain Of Command; in a dispute, the higher ranking administrator has the final choice.
- Do not use No-Clip, unless inspecting a base.
- If inspecting a base for prop block, or the appropriate number of fading doors, etc. you must warn the player before entering the base or house.
- Do not move anyone's props unless you have warned them about a rule violation and have refused to comply.
- Don't use the Administrator powers to spawn weapons without due reason.
- Do not ban other administrators unless they are breaking serious rules, report them and warn them.
- Do not randomly slay, or punish players unreasonably.
- Use Teleport for a valid reason. (With someone that needs help, has a complaint, or is reporting someone for violating rules.)
- For higher ranking Administrators, use ULX to ban players, not FAdmin.
- Format bans correctly, with a reasonable time and reason. (Example; !ban Minge1337 10080 Mass RDM; Left to avoid confrontation)
- will ban the player for one week. Mass RDM as in they killed several people for no reason. Depending on the severity, ban with an
- appropriate time.

Choices:
- Do not flaunt admin, or pick fights with players because you know you can win.
- Do not go around asking people if they need help for absolutely no reason. In general, people should come to you if they have a problem.
- Do not lay down extremely harsh punishments for minor offences.
- Do not use your administrator position to gain advantage in Role-playing.
- If you are not Admin on Duty, you should be Role playing as well as responding to people's issues and complaints.
- If you are an Admin on Duty, please do not go no clipping all over the map or into people's bases, etc. because it takes people out of the
- experience to see some combine super soldier flying around the map.
- Always remember; being an Administrator is not about you, but about the good of the server.
Offences and Appropriate punishments:
Anything that begins with "Repeated", means that the player has been warned at least two times before the specified punishment can be applied.
- Repeated Failure to Follow NLR: Assuming the player has been warned, this would result in a kick or fairly short ban, ideally one or two days.
- Repeated RDM: Generally, if the player has already been warned, they should receive a ban that is anywhere from a day to a week.
- The player is obviously just minging.
- Prop Blocking: This depends on whether or not the player understands what he or she is doing wrong, and the severity of the prop block.
- If the player blocks spawn, for example, permanently ban them immediately. However, if they forgot to put a fading door or don't know how to, put some time aside to teach them.
- Prop Pushing: There are generally no warnings in this case. If someone prop pushes, they should get a long or permanent ban immediately.
- DDoS Threats or Crash Attempts: Permanently ban the offending player immediately. Do not listen or respond to DDoS threats, just ban the player.
- Do not accept friend requests from the banned players. In general, do not bother attempting any form of negotiation and do not challenge the player.
- Job Abuse: If you are an Administrator with access to FAdmin, use the "Set Team" feature to demote the offending player from the class he or she
- has abused. If you are a Basic Admin, ask the player to switch to a different class. If they fail to comply, kick them. Give at least one warning before demoting.
- Do not ban the player from the class unless they already have been demoted once and continue to abuse the class.
- Pornographic Sprays: If you catch a player with a pornographic spray, first confirm the spray is owned by said player by having them respray in front of you. If they in fact are the owner, ban them immediately and inform them they may appeal on the forum. If they refuse or ignore you, kick them, and monitor them for further activity if the rejoin.
- Wire Abuse: Punishments will be handled similarly to prop abuse, use your discretion.
